Buyers Tips

1) Fix Your Credit & Get Out Of Debt Faster

Many people think that if you've ever had bad credit, you just have to wait 7 years for it to come off your credit report. However, this is not necessarily true. There are ways to remove bad credit, so you can improve your credit score and get a lower interest rate on your mortgage (that's why the best time to get started is now!). And you can do it all yourself. Let me show you exactly what you need to do to improve your credit so that you can get the best rate possible! Many clients make the mistake of trying to pay things off without consulting someone first, and they can waste precious time and money paying off the wrong debts. I will be happy to show you the steps that you need to take in order to get your credit sheet ready for home buying.

2) Compare Mortgages & Home Loan Programs Available To You

Before buying a home, I figured most mortgage programs are pretty much the same. But they are definitely not! There are a lot of different fees, interest rates, and programs to help just about anyone get a mortgage (a loan used to buy a house). Your mortgage professional should be able to find the home loan that is best for you. But it helps to know that you do have choices, and you can (and definitely should) shop around and find out exactly how much you can afford before you begin your home search! Just by comparing mortgage lenders, you can find the best first time home buyer program. Also, if you're a current homeowner, you'll find information on refinancing, debt consolidation loans, and home equity loans. Don't assume that just because one person got a good deal with Jo Blow Mortgage means that you will get that same deal. Read all of your contracts CAREFULLY and be sure to shop around before you make a decision.

3) Choose The Right Realtor

One of the most important decisions you will make when buying a house is choosing the right realtor. Unless you find your "dream house" right away, you'll be spending lots of time with your realtor. I would love to be that realtor for you, so let's meet for a cup of coffee or lunch and discuss what you are looking for so that you can make a decision and we can get you started in the home buying process right away!

4) Search Online Home Listings (The Fun Part!)

There are several places to look to find houses for sale. Your realtor is only one place. There are also a handful of good websites with house listings, plus other good places to look. I will have automatic emails sent to both you and I with homes matching your search criteria, but please do not hesitate to look in the newspaper or online and contact me with any additional homes that you come across! My only goal is for you to be 100% satisfied!
